If I have ever heard about somebody, I have heard a lot about Lorella Flego. Probably also because I was an art editor of women’s magazines: Nova, Story and Lea, for fifteen years. I remember my colleague from the Primorska Region, Alojz Petrovčič, from that period mentioning her on various occasions. When we needed some short news, he would say: “Let me call Lorella …”

PURE ITALIAN

When we were last making photos for a cover and an article in L&Z magazine in the Villa Adora in Bled, she told us that she was born to Italian parents from Croatian Istria. I also read that they lived in Africa for some time and later moved to Koper. Lorella attended an Italian school and her almost ten-year-old Sofia is currently attending it too. She says that school is no longer the school she knew once. Also, because due to immigrants from everywhere one does almost not hear an Italian word anymore.

FASHION DIVA COULD BE AN ACTRESS OR A COOK

It seems to me that Lorella could also act in a movie from the fifties. She could easily take her place alongside the magnificent Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday or cat-eyed Elizabeth Taylor in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. However, the tiny Audrey and Elizabeth would get lost standing next to the tall and slim Lorella’s figure, ha-ha.

Elegance of that period really suits her to the ground.

As she is a good cook and likes to cook, she says she could also have her own restaurant.

FLOWERS, VELVET AND THE GORENJSKA REGION

When she stepped out of her white car with unobtrusive letters glitter.si, the first thing she had to do was to take photos of the island and the Bled castle. She said she would send photos to her mother because she and her father had married here so many years ago. There must be something that draws this girl from Primorska to Gorenjska. She has recently bought a small house in a small village near Škofja Loka which she is now slowly renovating.

She also instantly liked the Villa Adora, furnished by its present owner, a respected dentist from Bled, Nina Čelesnik. In each room we can find wallpapers with floral patterns, exotic flowers, and animals. And brass and heavy velvet armchairs shine in typical country house colour scheme.

She tried on the entire collection of retro style clothing, telling us with enthusiasm that she was looking forward to the shooting in the company of women, which she had missed a lot.

SNOWFLAKES FROM CLEAR SKY

While being kissed by sun rays all the time, we were ultimately surprized by fluffy snowflakes. It seemed as if angels were throwing them from heaven. Probably to persuade Lorella to come back to Bled again.
