Summer is a very special period for photographers. Not much is needed for a good photo: some naked skin, dark taint, hair falling like waves and sparkles in the eyes. Tara Zupančič has all this. She is that nice girl who hosts the show Zvezde plešejo (Dancing with the Stars) together with Peter Poles and does many more things. These were also the main starting points for shooting the cover of the revija L&Z. 
A DOLL WHO IS NOT 1.80
First the Max Factor makeup master Tina Fabjan took care of her makeup. When I saw Tara without makeup, I said: “Wow, what a doll you are.” She looked like a playful little girl, with that typical little pout and of course her vigorous dialect of the Gorenjska Region that is quite close to me, ha-ha. And, as she once said in an interview that everybody thinks she is 1.80 m tall, I thought so too. The truth is that she is 10 cm shorter. This innocent image also hides a “wild at heart” rocker and a “carpe diem” biker. Then Maša from the Masha Hair salon joined her to tame her hair which gave Tara that final, “real” look.
HER CROCHET WORKS
With her creative little fingers, Tara signs as Varishana and creates crocheted tops (Varishana Takamao) with the help of her mom and girlfriends, which helps her to enjoy the American Indian woman in her. And she was also wearing these little tops when we started our shooting tour around Ljubljana.
WITH TARA, COLORFOUL STREETS OF LJUBLJANA BECAME EVEN MORE COLORFUL
Turquois, pink, yellow and light blue are the colours in which Tara presented her third side, and that is her role as a model. Which, like breathing, is right up her street. Because the day was hot, we got her – a little for the photo, a little just like that – mango ice cream that matched exquisitely with her “vintage street look” style clothing.
At the end we had a raw mango cake I made for this occasion. Whew, even I was surprised how good it was.
